Its gonna be a tight fit for resplined hubs. They will wear in over time. Id throw some grease on the splines to help get them in and out easier.

Are you getting your 12v to the coil with the ignition on? If so then your fuses are fine. Your 12V to the coil is supplied by the Engine control fuse in the box in the engine bay by the battery...
Yep, sounds like an improperly shimmed head. Dont rev too much with it improperly shimmed or youll be asking for a broken rocker arm and possibly even more damage.
