You should check to see if they have a DB limit at your track. And if you park the car outside make sure to cover up dump don't want to rain in your turbo.
Leave your car stock and don't modify it at all. Just live through everyone else and all will be good.
For my car yes, I was reving to 9k at the time with very little power loss till 9k.

you can just take it off the intake manifold and plug the intake manifold side of it and see if you still smokes.
