I just got back home. 6 hours 45 minutes and two stops = win!
Thanks for the wonderful event in Ohio to everyone, it was an AWESOME time. Definitely best gathering ever.
This is happynole's less known daughter here. Everyone crashed to get some sleep before starting the drive (about to wake them up) :P
So, since they needed sleep and I am staying home and I'm the ...
I deleted your other thread, no worries. IMO take the B13. Performance all the way.
Bring the b13,and let me take it for a spin.lol
So, I bought the car. It runs great, no 5th gear pop out, and its clean. The interior is from a 93. No tweety bird floor mats. The pic of the interior that some of you guys saw is a little old. ...
Just cranked it over for the first time WITH BOOST! Still have a bunch of loose ends to reinstall (little things like axles, and brakes), but at this point, I'll be bringing the SE-R, not the Miata...
lol.
Normally i wouldnt care for 18's on a 200sx....but altima se-r rims are really fucking awsome wheels. I miss them, i wish i could of not had a fucked up back and switched wheels between the 0...
thats far to much ground to cover.
my advice and ive done it like this before, pop the hood, get out the simple green, spray and scrub everything down, rinse it off really well.
let everythi...
I JUST had this issue. Your front main seal is leaking. Either that or your headgasket is pushed in from reinstalling the oil pump and its leaking out the top.
Not enough to stop driving it. But e...
how much oil are you losing? was the oil filter housing removed for the head work?
That's alot of blue lol. If you say its not coming from the tensioner. I say its coming from the head gasket where the oil pump meets the head.
I don't know if cost is a issue but the cheapest thing your going to probably find with a 3 inch exit is a "Asp budget header" those things are ranging from $300- $450 used. I'm sure there maybe ot...
My question is are you running aftermarket springs and retainers with those cams. If not you could be floating the valves resulting in the flat spot. Ugraded springs and retainers are a must with...
Did you get the ecu reflashed for the C-series cams? What's the ecu even tuned for?
uhm did you put a stick in the #1 cylinder? I usually use one of those collapsing magnet things. That will tell you if you're cams are in sync w tdc.
That header could hold you back w C2 cams.
^^^truth, u dont want to advance too much on a stock and kiss ur valves good bye, yeah if i would u ill retime it the right way, front cover off
start from scratch. i'd pull the front cover and vc make sure the chain and crank and cam gears are timed properly. "compensating" with cam gear only timing is just asking for trouble.
3/8 rachet with 6 inch extension and a 5/8 socket.
Yeah its odd. Doesn't matter though from my experiences. A DE is a DE. Everything should be fine. I would just crank the motor over by hand and see if the tensioner pops free and presses on the gui...
Do not turn that crank. What color were the marks? Yellow? Some motors I did cam swaps on had black links. If you have the painted links on the chains matched with the cam gear mark and they were a...
Do not rotate the crank if the timing chain is not attached to the sprokets. In my case, I got enought slack when I removed the tensioner.
Please take a picture of the whole thing and one from ...
I have had to do what Chris said on some motors I worked on. Try and thread on just the nut and tighten it enough to get the other washer/nut on. Then remove the first nut you put on and put the wa...
Move the crank pulley, or cams just a smidge to get more slack in the chain. Even then, it's still going to be tight. You'll have just enough exposed thread on the stud to get one nut started witho...
I always remove the tensioner and usually when you do the chain will either slack inbetween the gears or slack between the exhaust cam sprocket and crank. Usually it happens because the lobe is pr...
same here, I have been using the same "JWT spec" wood block forever, but I have never removed the tensioner during a cam install
EDIT: I meant I have always removed the tensioner, I have never had...
