Dont know. Im on a cable speedo and the cluster puts out a digital signal to the ecu. I believe even on the electric vss it goes to the cluster then to the ecu and probably same type of signal.
There is no slack, with the car on the ground or in the air any slight steering wheel movement will turn the tires. I read the Miata rack How To that said there was slack, but when i inspected mine...

I personally would be mad if I took my family somewhere and ppl were loud and keeping me up.
