I would say 400+ is a good threshhold. Maybe even as low as 350 if you are harsh on it.

Yeah there is a lot of things involved when I saw on in person hubs, adapter brackets etc.and it's at least 2000 dollar swap if remember correctly

A tranny cooler will not fix the major design flaws in these transmissions that cause our issues.

Case flex and lack of bracing for the gear stacks are a couple major flaws

And the fact the teeth on 3rd gear don't line up properly so they are loaded heavily on the edges, another reason 3rd gear fails so readily.

Good luck getting into gear that high in the revs on a B13/B14 box.

Hmmm interesting, these motors match torque very well with horsepower I would think it would be hard to make 500hp and only 250tq.

I'm just slowly getting in the mod to make big power a few steps at a time, I believe this way it would be best to see and feel the upgrades I've made.
I wish I started a thread 8 years ago when I first started.
I want to make sure the block can take 500-600 power I think of it like tow strap rating, overbuilt for reliability. The only
Other thing I haven't done on these cars is transmission work, otherwise I feel confident.

Then again, having as much if not more money in the transmission is crazy *scratching head* if I was going to to have to go all out on tranny work why not go with a clutch less set up 😋

Why is investing a decent amount of money into your drivetrain "head scratching"?

Ive never understood people that blow loads on built motors and keep tossing used B13 transmissions at it to break.

I don't have a problem with investing, just
Looking for which direction to head. Obviously going hand in hand been through stock transmissions, I have a b15 trans that I would like to last. Never modded one and just trying to get a figure for price, then I can decide, what are you using for a transmission? Enlighten me with how you've cleared the hurdle. Also associated cost and effectiveness. There are great ideas here more wouldn't hurt...I know the tranny cooler isnt a save all.
