The battery will stay charged with some small gauge wire. 8 gauge is plenty. However, the starter draws WAY more power than that all at once, so you want some thicker stuff. The smallest anyone rec...

I only keep it as an option because it's the only other GL-4 fluid I've ever found. If you can't rock Redline the Penzoil Synchromesh is just about your only other option.
