Don't scrape it. Cover seats and rear deck with plastic, spray ammonia(search tearoffguy) on the tint, bake it in the sun, and it peels off.
It can help keep the defroster intact as well.

You need to do an alignment for starters. I doubt it'll help with the noise though.

Unscrew the adjustment nut all the way out until it's loose and then retighten it making sure the cable doesn't spin with it. The crunchy effect comes from binding the cable inside it's jacketing. ...
