Machine shop in Spokane, WA?
I need my DET head rebuilt but there is no shop here in N ID who is familiar with the Sr20 head. First guy I used screwed up my bronze valve guides and admitted he couldn't finish the job.

I'm only 30 minutes from Spokane, WA. Can anyone recommend a machine shop I can trust to do the job right.

cylinder head service on francis does good work, i know they do good resurfacing anyway, i beleive the local v8 guys have nothing but praise for their work, they replaced the valve guides and resurfaced my lowport head, did a great job and it was pretty cheap, i think like $250 or less

Thanks, that was fast. I think I found them (509) 483-6402. I'll call tomorrow.

Did they install bronze valve guides for you? That's where I ran into problems.

Did you have them shim the valves/rocker arms too? The places I called didn't have the correct Nissan type tool to correctly shim the valves?

They installed new oem guides but id imagine they could do bronze ones, i assembled the head myself, just used the stock shims but make sure they are going onto the correct retainer to keep the original specs

I thought that once you replaced valve guides the head had to be re-shimmed but I guess it's different with the OEM valve guides.

I found someone who really seem to know what he is talking about. Don at O'Neil's Custom Engines 509 467-8613
He was recommended by Kirk at Advanced Engines

I dropped my head off there today so hopefully every thing will go well.

Another good place is supposed to be Sunwest 509 299-3200. They actually have a Sardi machine to do valve jobs and do all the head work for S&J Engines.
