^^Although I agree, I do not think this applies to the pioneers in the business as Teal clearly is

- 87mm @ 12.5:1 can be sitting at 225-235 all day with right support mods. Same power as your 2.4L made. I think you will love the car and have a better feeling in your stomach knowing that it is on stock sleeves.

why would some one tout the pe gasket for a 92mm? i don't know, but $chuck$ did @ his old shop (asp) in kent.
make sure your pistons don't protrude above the deck...(they were on my build)
....especially important if the head gasket is protruding into the bore!YA THINK!
to be continued......i'm sure

There's a guy on this forum that is running a 92mm block with the PE gasket and has never had an issue.

I have run them in the past on my 92mm.

These gaskets are better suited for flat deck blocks and or stepped blocks as Mazworx.

With the AEBS sleeves and their deck stepping process I have had good results with the bored VET gasket. Even with a 92mm on spray. Bes's 2.3L is on stepped AEBS sleeves with well over 5,000 miles of abuse.

Rocco's 2.4 is on a flat deck Mazworx block with the 90mm PE gasket. Good results with tons of miles.

It comes down to understanding what gasket works with what configuration. 95% of the failures were external to the gasket. I think we should all have a better understanding of what needs to be done to prevent failures.

87mm block
thanks to a generous local donor, i'll be picking up a blown de block for the girdle and associated components.
received the acl rod bearings today. i got them in the -x model (extra .001) oil clearance. main bearings should be here soon from "the maz"
