re-scaled fuel and timing tp's suck....
300 miles of test/tune and driving enjoyment today. i've found that the engine was running much richer with smaller (numerically) fuel tp's. i saw numbers as low as 10.xx at wot. so i adjusted them back to my stock ve bin. then shrunk the top 3 tp's by about 10%. this got my idle and cruise afr's back into the normal range while letting the 1/2 or more throttle afr's go into the mid-low 12's
.
as far as drive-ability goes, there is still some stutter going from light throttle to accelerate. once the engine is increasing rpm though, it's a smooth power increase. thought the re-scaled scales would eliminate it but, hmm, that had no effect on it.
i've heard the sti injectors are hard to tune for and at my current power level, the 370's may be better for this motor.
the 5.8k In/6k Ex cam switching is hitting HARD and reliably! HELL YA!
next, i'll be adjusting the exhaust cam gear from -2* to zero.
the saga continues..............
