Yes in a way, but it should hold more pressure than that. Every setup ive seen will pressurize to set fuel pressure then drop down to 30-35psi or so and hold for a long time.

You either have a bad regulator or your fuel pumps check valve is not functioning very good. Either way, when its running you really wont have any issues. It might make for some hicups in startups but I wouldnt really be that concerned. I would if it dropped completely back down to 0 right away.

replaced the nismo afpr with the oem one. no change on the fp dropping rapidly. fuel cap also works as advertised.
on another note..
later on this A.M. i'll do a little tuning of the previous timing/fuel maps. the much bigger small lobes of the kelfords mean i can add a little timing down low. gonna be taking baby steps here.

Focus on the fuel maps and leave the timing for the dyno.

The map I modified for you has more than enough timing for the kelfords down low for now.

FP dropping is from the check valve in line. Not a problem you should worry about.

i smoothed out the fuel maps previously. i'll take the masters advice on the timing, thanx.

ordered up 2 vibrant 1142's (3"). gonna build a system similar to the motiq article. if it's still too loud, i'll put the "butt plug" in the muffler exit for a relaxing quiet ride on the highway, then remove it for tuning and/or spirited driving

no rain today
so took the Teal monster for a little 20 mile test/tune ride down the freeway. the fuel map is pretty dialed in now. the odometer reads 60 miles since this latest rebuild. haven't taken it above 4k rpm yet. actually feels like there's no need to...she hauls ass down low with only half throttle
another 40 miles to the oil change, then i'll up the rpm limit to 6k.
should have the new exhaust parts installed before then.

thats all for now
