I know mazworx is more money but obviously it has shown to be the best. Didnt cory get his block done by mazworx and soo far he is the only one not having issues like this. He did have issues with pressurizing the cooling system but that was when he tried to reuse the gasket that probably had the coating flaking off on it.

A build like this cant have any shortcuts taken. And many are learning that now.

You have to understand all the variables involved.

There are about 6 blocks that were sleeved from 4 different places, 3 different style headgaskets, and some gaskets that were re-used.

Everyone has slightly different issues. There is no way to pin point one problem.

The one thing that we do know is we cant, in most cases, re-use the mazworx gasket. 3 of 4 cases failed when re-used.

Mazworx claims, that these gaskets are reusable, which they arent, and they should have a warranty, but they dont. I guess they dont stand by their product. We should all complain and see what is their response to our claims, I'm down, who else is?. I also have one to send in as reference.

To put this matter to rest about sleeves, we need to contact all the machine shops Mazworx, larrys etc and see if they would have a block sleeving shootout(LOL). It wouldnt hurt, so we can all get an idea of the shops that actually know what they're doing when it comes to sleeving the SR block.
If these companies are confident in there work then there should not be any excuses about this. All expenses should be on them since its done in house, they will reep the benefits in the long run...

Nice to hear one re used gasket worked lol. The weird part is the gaskets coating is not flaking off. The gaskets look absolutely flawless, but still have issues when re used.

I forgot the 2.2VET gasket failed too when re-used, so 4 of 5 lol.

Thats what gets me, they look great when they come off. The VET gasket didnt get a heat cycle before the head came off and still failed.

I think it has to do with the crush of the firing ring of the gasket more than anything else. Once it crushes between the two surfaces, the second time around there is no crush effect and probably dont get that seal that initially happens.

Every time ive removed a Cosworth gasket you can see the initial imprint of the firing ring around the cylinders and you can see that the firing ring which once had an indention to it to crush and seal between the surfaces is gone along with the coating on the gasket on the firing ring. However on mine the black coating on the gasket even if it was only a couple weeks of use would be flaking after removal around the high pressure sealing areas which included around the cylinders especially the firing ring, around the oil and coolant passages. the rest of the gasket looked absolutely perfect.

Again I know it sucks not being able to reuse them but again on builds like this why would you? You already have between 6-8k to do the build so why not spend the 250 bucks on a new gasket if you ever had to take the head off. The gaskets are not meant to be reused and if the companies are saying they can thats kinda retarded. Once you lose any of that coating you creat an uneven surface even if its just a hair and it obviously makes a difference.

After 1/2in stud machining its about $320 shipped for each gasket. I have used 4 between the two motors (NA/Turbo) so far.

A VET gasket costs me nothing and I can have it bored for $50-$75. May be the next one I try.

After spending over $25,000 between two builds, every dollar burned becomes harder to throw away lol.

^D*mn. I guess the thing to do is make sure you don't plan on taking the head off unless you ready to spend an extra $200-$300 for a replacement.

Not to mention when ur swaping heads or pulling it off 2 times to test different porting techniques its a PITA. The builts are expensive bit I don't want to spend another 1k in damn gaskets just testing different things.....
