your right.

i wish we had a better option as far as a head gasket goes.

not knocking maz at all, but could it be a design flaw ?

whats causing this ? im thinking the tolerances are so narrow that any mistake however minor has drastic effects.

im gonna text and call some 2.4 guys tonight and tomorrow and get a conscinious of who has had h/g issue etc.

stratton.

I dont know where he got his block done at but if it wasnt from mazworx or Darton I wouldnt trust it. I dont think its a headgasket issue either. The mazworx gasket is a great gasket. Hell it was sealing my buddies sleeved block with .014" dropped sleeves until 500 miles and a couple wot pulls. Thats a big gap to seal for a gasket.

Gotta be more to the issues.

I think it was detonation that killed your gasket or that Benson block.

Told you from the beginning what I learned from the first benson block.

If i was gonna go this route there is no other choice in my mind other than a Mazworx block. FYI they are planning on doing a 2.4 VE for their s15 drag car. So if they are confident that their sleeved blocks can handle 1200+ whp there is no reason a 250-300whp n/a car shouldnt last a long time on one of their blocks.

I know mazworx is more money but obviously it has shown to be the best. Didnt cory get his block done by mazworx and soo far he is the only one not having issues like this. He did have issues with pressurizing the cooling system but that was when he tried to reuse the gasket that probably had the coating flaking off on it.

A build like this cant have any shortcuts taken. And many are learning that now.

Let me say this there is nothing wrong with my block, I just used my headgasket more than once and that failed after 2k miles, surprised it lasted that long... All the cylinders look brand new still

I would also like to compare a mazworx block to mine,I've seen some mazworx blocks and I'm not impressed...

Im glad it was just the same issue cory had when he tried to reuse it. Good luck man.
