not for just the stroker part. You can do a solid 2.2 stroker without sleeving. Especially if n/a you could go 88mm bore max on the stock sleeves and then do the 92mm crank and that should give you a decent size 2.2 as i believe most 2.2L stroker kits come with 87mm pistons and 91mm cranks.
But if you want to go anything more than that 88mm bore, sleeving is necessary.
