thanks guys. sounds interesting. so the only real advantage of the b15 tranny is the stronger case? cuz the ratio's are certainly all screwed up. in my Forte @ an indicated 70mph the 2.4L is loafing along @~2100 rpm in 6th (auto). imho, the 2.4ve has more than enough torque to handle low 2k's at 70mph.

yep, you spent all that on the build now time to save up a fraction of the cost of your build and do a 6 speed swap. Even over a 99 p11 stack in 5th, 6th gear on the 04 spec trans is a good 1000 rpm less. 80mph in 6th is about 3100 rpm compared to 4100 with the p11 stacks. Im sure the b15 trans is up near 4700 or so in 5th at 80mph.

8000RPM red line, 205/50-15 tires.

Red is B15 stock trans. Blue is 13/b14 SE-R stock trans.

cool stuff right there. how about a calculator for hp needed to overcome aerodynamic drag? iirc, the Cd of the b14 is~.34.

i'm in the process of ensuring the rings are seating properly and i don't want to glaze the cylinders. but i don't get to drive it very often either, so it'll take longer than it should. i'm shooting for beginning of next month. i'll get some more seat time tomorrow (playing hookey from work)
i can honestly say though...the actual numbers aren't as important as, they will be interesting. more of a cam comparo in my eyes. i'll extract what i can up to 8k, as long as she holds together i'll be a happy camper cuz shes plenty fast.

put ~ 110 miles on her today. varying speeds/throttle positions, etc... a few short 3/4 throttle blasts to 7k rpm. more break-in to come Mon-Tue-Wed. may be ready for dyno sooner than i thought i hope Intec saved my last dyno session so we can do an overlay. the b14 rides like a caddy compared to the Forte on Megan Racing Coilovers. and they have the same spring rates.

find the latest sticker...

more miles and adjustments/dyno info
did some tps/tb adjustments today to fix driveability issue. the most i could get was 3.6v@wot while having .51v with t/b fully closed. was @ 3.24v @ wot. think it picked up some pwr. neighbors appreciated 75' rolling smokey 2nd gear burnout. michelin pe2's were on fire and NO wheel hop thought the clutch was slipping at first
more fun miles tomorrow and next Monday. oil/filter change Tuesday, switching to the Redline.
DYNO Wednesday, Mar 14, 1130 @ Intec . fuel and timing adjustments only. the cams are @ +3in/0ex.

Kelford IS the new sticker
