Teal, I would ditch the ARP's and get some proper studs for one when you put the motor back together. At least the mazworx studs. Definitely need to get the front cover shaved with the block even the slightest step up on the cover will not be good.

Gonna say it again, there's nothing wrong with a fresh set of stocks. You will be pulling that head off again, don't wanna see you waste 180 every time..

Why? ive never had problems reusing head studs. Never had them stretch. Just dont overtorque them. Get yourself a proper set and you will have no problems reusing them and will provide way more clamping force than the stock bolts.

Yes like stated, the race car's headgasket was re-used unless there is visible damage on it like a firing ring blowing out or if we totally trashed the motor. We trashed 1 motor in 2010.

In a N/A application, stock headstuds should be ok. Your not creating enough to cause head lifting issues.

Std ARP's off the shelf dont bottom out to get full engagement. But again in a N/A application, stockers should be ok. Doesnt hurt to have extra clamping force.

Understandable.

Do you guys run coolant through your block or is it a filled block?

I do not want to keep cluttering this thread with side talk, but I feel there is a bunch of information that may be useful to this board without the mis-information sometimes passed through phone conversation.
