70mm t/b showed up Wednesday all is well with it. i dropped it off @ a local hot rod builders shop to have a throttle cable bracket fabricated. it'll attach to the t/b mount bolts, extending 5" toward the passenger side of the plenum. it'll be done this week. tomorrow the Sti injectors go to WitchHunter Performance in Bothell, Wa for cleaning/flow balancing. should have them back next week.
so far, the main issue is clearance between the 1st intake pipe and the brake master cylinder. i've shortened the first silicone coupler about as much as i'd like to. i may have to do some sort of custom mandrel bent pipe there, to get comfortable clearances.
more to come...

ya that seems like a common issue with those intake mani's but hey.. you can do so much! hehe

i think a mandrel intake pipe would kick ass if routed right.

good to hear shes almost done man, gonna have to break her in an take her to the dyno soon

p.s i still want a ride!!

aussie t/b installed
installed the custom throttle cable bracket and au$$ie 70mm t/b today. i used the oem b14 tps. took a little off the backside (opposite the connector) of the tps to make it fit this t/b. (better than buying a new one).

for idle, i cracked open the throttle plate a little with the throttle stop screw...hey, it works.

then the 3 mile test drive. umm, can you say TORQUE?
even though i have the rpm limiter set @ 4k for the next 50 miles of break-in, it was immediately apparent this is gonna be one fun bitch to drive.

here's a pic of the brake master cylinder/intake tube.

when i went to pick up the new throttle cable bracket, the old guy asked me what i paid for the 70mm au$$ie t/b that i'd left with him. when i told him, he was surprised how little. he was really impressed with the overall quality of it. pointing out how all the edges are radius'd and very few machining marks.
tomorrow the car goes in for an alignment so i can rack up some mileages. should be getting the STi injectors back, from cleaning/flowing, any day.
i'd like to thank Dale (autech) for the very high quality piece (NO CHINESE CRAP) and first rate service. YOU ROCK!

I love the throttle cable bracket. Can they make one for cruise?

i'm sure he could. i still have the bracket from the oem plenum he could draw from. so...what after market t/b do you have that has dual pullies? or, are you using the usdm t/b on a custom plenum?

did a little more map tuning today after the alignment. i reduced the timing in low load/low rpm cells. and..found out i just couldn't live with the 4k limiter (4k comes way too fast) so i raised it to 5.1k. call me conservative

look what i found...
in my mailbox today.

hmmm.

holy crap that was fast. notice he also sent new o-rings.
if there was ever any doubt on the actual cc's of the STi injectors, wonder no more. this stuff will stay in the bag's until i'm ready for the swap/retune
