With over 12:1 cr the larger n1 or kelfords will relieve a lot of the dynamic cr and allow you to actually run some decent timing on pump gas. Im sure you have your reasons but it'd be a shame to see this w stock cams.. totally agree w totaled200ser

don't worry boyz
i'm not THAT OLD......N1's are sittin' here. didn't wanna give the machine shop monkeys a chance on snapping one. call me paranoid :o
i figured they use the same base circle as the oem sr20ve's so clearance should be close, if not spot on. when i get the head back, i'll do the swap to N1's myself.
in the mean time, since i have both the N1's AND the Kelfords on hand, i was thinking of maybe modifying (weld/re-grind) the 20ve cams into something SPECIAL.

that's kinda what i figured.. would be cool to see a dyno comparison of the n1 vs kelfords @ straight up and maybe dialed in.

The Kelfords will stomp the N1's with the setup that you have listed. If you are worried about the machine shop snapping the cams, I wouldn't let them anywhere near my engine. Is it some guy in his basement? Machine shops do machining and assemble engines all day everyday. If they snap a cam, they own it. If you are even remotely nervous that they can't handle a simple head assembly, why on earth is your engine there? None of this makes sense to me at all.
