If you want a clean record get a lawyer. I have gotten out of a couple tickets that way and it costs just a little more then the ticket itself. That of course all depends on where you got the ticket though. Some courts are just not friendly to lawyers, and you may never get out of them.
If you don't mind a blemish on your record then mitigate the ticket, and ask to have it deferred (sp?)If you do that you will have to pay a court fee of $150 and if you don't get a ticket in the next twleve months it goes off of your record. If you do get a ticket in that period then both tickets go on your record I believe.
Lastly you can ask to have the ticket cost lowered. The ticket will go on your record, but you can have reduced to possibly half.
Do do a mitigation just get a court date and explain to the judge that you made i mistake, and you have learned your lesson. Yoiu can even write a letter and skip court all together! Just look into it.
Either way don't pay the ticket straight up. That is a suckers way lol.
