Written Statement of Car incident (February 21, 2009)
I left my residence at approximately 1:30-2:00am Saturday morning with the intention of bringing my 1991 Nissan NX2000 to Tacoma, WA in order to place it in a storage unit that I had rented for it (rather than occupying my home garage.) I made my way onto I-5 south and made it approximately 5-6 miles before things went wrong. For some reason my car was unable to crack the 60mph barrier, disabling me from making a lane change. After the attempt of making the lane change the car began to disperse an immense amount of grey smoke from the engine bay which channeled under the vehicles chassis and out the rear of the car. Moments later, power from my car nearly ceased and dash lights from my car all became lit (indicating a power loss.) I checked my rear view mirror and I saw fragments of sparking material dropping from the car, so with my best ability I navigated the car towards the shoulder and managed to get the hood popped. The cabin of the vehicle began to fill with smoke and as I exited via the passenger side door I saw the flames spewing out of the crevices on the hood…. So promptly I distanced myself from the vehicle and called 911. The flames spread to the inside of the vehicle and burned the entire car. No other parties were involved or harmed in the process…
Im lazy...
