Below is what I think the 20V L and N1 H will look like vs FS4 cams

3000------40------50-----+10
3500------50------65-----+15
4000------54------63-----+9

8000-----131------137----+6
8500-----137------133--- -4
9000-----140------130--- -10

That power curve for the 20V L and N1 H is way in its favor, much more power under the curve. This setup will be a great drag cam and street cam from a role.

Wow, im blown away by offers of money! Ive just been doing all this for myself, but more than happy to help the rest of the comunity along the way.

If Miko's predictions are right, then i will be a very happy camper.

If they dyno up how we hope, then these should be a popular cam. Only thing i'd like to try to complete the testing is N1's as well, so the Americans etc can compare what they can already get, vs the 20v hibrid cam.

Should it be called a stage 20v, stage 3.5..... Hmmm...

Pick up tommorow with any luck, otherwise friday, its over an hours drive and i'm heading down past that way anyway on fri. Wont be able to bolt them in till i get back sun, so expect some tuning and a dyno mid next week.

Evlnxr. At this stage in the game if you get N1 tops put on 20V bottoms there will be no need for N1 tests.

We know 20vs outpower N1s on the bottom and we are getting N1 tops so there would be no need to go further.

The only thing after that would be a listening ear by the cam maker to make the next stage in cam.

That would be 20V bottoms with a small tweak and something larger than N1s that can make peak WHP in the 8500 RPM range. That would be about 500 RPMs latter than N1s and would hold the power to 9000 RPMs.

That right there would be a great street- race cam and would work great on some of the built motors out there.

+1 on 20vL/N1H CAMs.
Where do I sign up for the group buy?

As soon as i get a dyno chart up, i'll talk to Adrian about getting some more ground up.

Cheers for all the support!

Evlnxr.

You can tell Adrian at franklin to get rid of all the cams hes got. There will be no need for anything else.

Franklin stage 1 and 2 cams no one will buy.

Franklin Stage 3 cams ( N1s ) people will buy.

Franklins Stage 4 cams will become obsolete because they need to be revised so.

Thy could come up with a new sytem

Franklin Race 1 ( N1 copies ) Spings not needed but recomended

Franklin Race 2 ( 20V low with N1 high ) Springs not needed but recomended

Franklin Race 3 ( improve stage 4 cam with 20V lows + not much and something better for the high lobe. ) Springs needed

Great writeup. I am glad to see someone finally doing something. It is nice to see knowledgable people putting their heads together.
I will take a set of the 20v with N1 tops as soon as they are ready.
Andreas in a daily driven car do you recommend springs with N1s?

I recommend springs and retainers but you will be fine without. Springs and retainers will also give you more WHP from about 7500 and up.

an honest 220+whp/180wtq (u.s.a. measured) for a bolt-on VE sounds tempting. a 20v low/+ something a bit bigger than n1 high just might do it.
problem is....how much more room do we have between the n1 high lobes and the pins/rockers? i recall an experimental (turbofreak) cam i ran for a short time you couldn't see daylight through there! it may have been ground wrong though, i don't recall
