I will say this again.

match the pulley with the crank spacer/oil pump drive. If you use a DE pulley, you must use the DE spacer/oil pump drive. If you use a VE pulley (or mine) you must use the VE spacer/oil pump drive. The GTI-R spacer/oil pump drive is the same as the VE one.

Also, as a side note. wE LOOKED AT THE CAD DRAWING BETWEEN MINE AND VR and we were 2 degrees off. Apparently the center of the keyway represents 18* of timing. This is of course assuming the other guys are right, but it does seem to bear out what were were finding. I will of course test it on the motor when I get them.

THANK YOU!!!
I also have a set of DE pullies I want to put on my VE
I called you and you told me this, and I was just reading this post earlier....thinking about what you said.
HaHa...glad you posted this Greg to hopefully set this straight.

Also,I will be first in line for the Version 2 WP pulley. When will they be available? any guesses?

There are no problems with using a de pulley with the ve spacer and oil pump besides the belt missalignment. Now people that were trying to throw on a de pulley with the de spacer and ve oil pump, were f*cking stuff up, and they wouldn't listen to reason until they broke something....

^Explain about the VE oil pump with the DE spacer with a DE crank pulley or is it the water pulley as well?..........

Jer, how can you use a DE pulley with a VE spacer? That's a pretty significant mis-alignment.

How? With alot of noise.

SOMEDAY he will machine the inside of the pulley to align it.

Oh come on, it's not that noisy Besides, you are the one with the machine shop hookups, so why haven't you shared?!

Greg, I just used belts with one less rib, then staggered them (put the belt on the outermost rib of the wp pulley, then the innermost rib of the crank pulley) if you get what I'm saying. Now it's just barely missaligned, just enough to be a little noisy. It sounds like a faint belt squeak, it all depends, sometimes it squeaks and sometimes it doesn't. It doesn't rub enough to damage the belt, I have had these belts on for almost two years.

I got no hookups now unless you want mass produced stuff. Don't have my own cnc here now.

I figured I would let the pullies do the trimming for me

I meant to get the pulley machined within a month after installing the motor, but I had trouble find a stock VE pulley for measurements. Once I found one, things keep popping up, plus the only machine shop I found with a lathe is only open M-F while I'm at work.
