I will pioneer this **** unless someone beats me to it. I have been waiting to get my car back from paint for like year. Never get the "hook up" aka normal price from someoen you know. ****in dudes taking so long to paint my car. The only things that are going to suck are #1 I have a sr16ve trans, I don't know if I should even try using this since the gears are so short, and # 2 I hate wiring so I may have to pay a shop/ pay someone on the forum to wire up my FMU and gauges. All I'm really worried about. I actually work in a fab department so I can get brackets made free for me which is cool. I am waiting for like andreas miko or one of the other bigshot sr20 guys to come in here and burst my bubble though. Well see.

Well from what i have read, using a fairly large turbo (gt28+), and sufficient intercooler..etc, would allow for around or under 10psi to be run on the ve stock internals (feel free to dispute this).

Assuming the SC would provide even cooler intake temps, would it not be possible to run at least 10psi safely? Anyone who might be able to help please let us know what you think on this subject...

centrifugal chargers are nice and linear, similar to a turbo, and easy to pipe in an intercooler.
Worst part is getting it mounted, IMHO not worth the issue as its much simpler to work in a turbo installation due to factory bolt on parts.

Thanks for the input. Since I work in fab I don't think I'll have too much trouble. I like the way s/c cars drive my buddies jrsc integra gsr was a blast. Also I like to be different.

The only thing I would worry about are those Piston rings
I pretty sure you can run a supercharger at a fairly good amout of boost with the right Octane + tuning.

And yes Dudeman I will say you can get away with more than 10psi with the right turbo on a stock VE, the main concern i see is keeping the internal temps down in order not to melt the pistons or cause detonation.

Feel free to make any input, as I'm still learning myself.

beware a rotrex wont behave like a jackson supercharged car...
they use a roots (eaton) type that generates boost straight off idle
rotrex boosts up gradually, increasing with revs

I've been thinking if a water to air intercooler be ideal for stock internals, would it be??????

i would totaty put this on my de....in the long run...it might seem more cost effective than a turbo

turbo;
need oil and water line, feed and return lines,dp, plus if the seal blow on a turbo it needs to be rebuilt

rotrex thing;
all you would need is a custom braket and belt for it to work.....

i think if somone took the time to add up EACH INDIVIDUAL part for either option they would be close cost wise........

now what WOULD BE THE **** is if somone twinchared an sr20....with this rotrex AND a t28!!!

I wouldn't say ideal, but it would be a bonus to keep the intake temps down, since water does a better job of drawing the heat out of metal than air.
