Thread: 4-1 Header (3") with 60mm Exhaust?

do you have upgraded springs or just put the sr16 cams in the sr20ve

stock springs. rev to 8300rpm just the same.

motor is stock sr20 except for sr16 cams.

Why?

Maybe replace the 1st resonator with a 3", then use a nice taper instead of a step to the rest of the exhaust and i would be very surprised if there is much performance difference to a 3" full system.

Ive had a 3" system for ages and got sick of the drone, and fitted a rear muffler that is under 2" (maybe 1 3/4) thru the baffled part of the muffler, and a 3" butterfly with no baffles. Butt dyno cannot tell the difference between open and closed, its just massively louder. I will dyno next month with the valve open and closed and see what the actual difference is.

Its been a real experiance being able to drive the car at highway cruising speed for the 1st time in 6 years without getting a headache from the drone.
