SR20VE
SR16 N1 cams with BC valve springs and retainers (even regular SR16 cams)
3 inch exhaust
Fuji Header, SSAC header with 2.5" downpipe, or a nice custom made 4 to 1 header
Fuel Management (Calum Realtime, Calum Basic with a S-AFC, Standalone)
Adjustable came gears
Lightweight flywheel
G-Spec crank pulley

That tuned right will net you 195-205 whp

I dont know why spring and retainers are recommended because most of the dyno's with N1's that I've seen here, the power starts to fall after around 7,600 RPM's

you want to rev past your peak power so that you stay well inside the high cam kickin point.
I.e. i make peak around 7600, but rev to 8500 and drops back to ~6200rpm on gearchanges.

my recipe:

sr20ve
n1 cams and BC valve springs
2.5" exhaust
xforce headers
generic pod filter
nistune ecu daughterboard

I would not say its a must. I for one ran them for safety. Its not worth losing a motor for an extra $300. Its also a decent upgrade.

I have seen N1 cammed powered cars hold their power above 8,000 RPM.

Id say its all in the headers you use and how good your tune is.
