My first VE tune...
First I would like to thank GregV and Mac for all their work.

So here's the chart:

(Blue = Before / Red = After)

This is in an 02 G20 5port. with the following mods:
  • SR20VE
  • RR MAF
  • JWT Pop Charger
  • Outlaw Engineering Intake Spacers
  • N1 Cams
  • BC Spring/Retainer Kit
  • DE Dizzy
  • GSpec Aluminum Crank Pulley
  • GSpec Aluminum Oversized Water Pump Pulley
  • CS Cam Gears
  • Fidanza Flywheel
  • SSAC 2.5" Header
  • CalumRT
  • Greddy MSS
  • Mautai's Grounding Kit
  • Remus Sports Label

Worth noting is from the CAT to the bolt on Remus it's all stock piping.
My goal is 200WHP.
I'd like to hit that with 2.5" piping if possible but am willing to go 3" if necessary.
Plus I picked up a Remus Rev3 Wild Label exhaust with 2.5" to 3" stepped inlet.

Let me know what you guys think, I need 30 more WHP!

How much timing do you have in it? from 5500 to 8000? Pick up a DRL-400 like what shig speed had and set the limiter to 8500 since the stock ecu only gives u 8k. Did you do any funking settings like +5/-5? or did u leave the gears at zero? Post up your ignition map and try to bring the A/F down to 13.0-13.2 all the way to redline.

+5/-5

I have a MSD D6+ I'll be using as a rev limiter eventually.

I'll pull the bin file tomorrow and post it up so people can see it.

Just set the cams back to Zero we never got good numbers with the 5/-5 when we were testing out the cams.

This was our last test with the N1's vs Frank Stage 3's with gears at Zero. We didn't really tune on these runs just ran a old program we had from out Stage 4 cam dyno tunes. The numbers are SAE.

20V header 3" downpipe
no cat 3" exhaust.

5speeds car put down around 188 to 190 with his cam setup which is N1 Intake and Frank 4 exhaust I think, Can't find his dyno graph. His is a P10 with SSauto 2.5 and 2.5 exhaust.

Yeah, seems like everyone used to do +5/-5, now everyone is saying leave them at 0 or +2.5/-2.5.
I know everyone will say go 3" over 2.5" but what is the gain difference, small or great?

3" exhaust is just too loud for me. I'm old now and don't want to that loud of a N/A car lol.

You can find them on ebay and not sure either. I have an idea but I haven't heard back from shigspeed yet about how to hook it up.

I think the stock piping is chocking things up. If you have N1 cams, I'd go with a full 2.5"-3" exhaust and you should be very close to your 200whp goal.

Dial cam gears to 2/-2 or 3/-2 or 3/-3 these are all decent settings which will give you similar midrange but a much better top end like a 0/0 setting worked for me, you need to tune it after changing it though! and a 3" exhaust that has to give you a decent gain over the stock piping

14:1 up the top end is pretty lean also dude! especially on those cam settings as you wont have the same cooling as a 0/0 setting!
