Even if RR MAFs were just as good, they are hard to come by and expensive to replace.
You can find N60 MAFs all the time and they're relatively cheap too.
Yeah, on my end, I just ended up giving up at some point. I had the VE MAF in my hands (mine came with the engine), converted the harness (the B15 harness is different), hooked everything up, and called it a day.
Note that I was able to make the RR MAF work with the RR ECU/AFC Neo and the VE engine, but the sucky redline made it equally pointless.
