ohhh....haha. i thought you going to say that there's some kind of spark advantage or something like that. so its that's simple i see. so on the ve distributor, it faces away from the solenoids but needs to be rewired to the de harness, but on the rr distributor, there no rewiring, correct?

My sentiments exactly. Spoke with a well known Nissan tuner and he confirmed that they have tried all different type MAFs and didnt get any significant gains over the ve MAF for 200whp range.

Peace

Oh God, The VE MAF and the 95-99 Maxima MAF have the same inner bore size. That being 70mm.

This conversation was between the DE MAF at 50mm and the Maxima MAF at 70mm.

Please understand that most of the VEs we get come without MAFs. So the obvious choice is to use the 95-99 Maxima MAF 70mm or Pathfinder-Xterra-Frountier 2000-04 70mm MAF (which is the same as the VE MAF).

There is no rewiring. It just plugs right up.

If I were you guys Id listen to Dre. I dont understand why ppl are trying to argue some of these things he's trying to tell you.

On topic: You really need to get them DE injectors out of there! Thats not even a stock VE...thats lower then stock with all that DE stuff on there. Like Dre said, get a Calum computer (105.00) and a E60 MAF (50-60 bucks) and put them injectors back in.

Yes, it is. However, I tried to use mine when I did my swap, and I was never able to make it work with the conversions on the AFC Neo, and this MAF was not an option for JWT ECUs for some odd reason that I don't know of.

Has anyone ever been able to make a B15 MAF work with a Calum ECU? With a B14 ECU, no matter what I tried with the AFC Neo, I was always in limp mode. I switched over to a VE MAF, and I was able to make it work on the first try (with AFC Neo conversion, and later with the JWT ECU programmed to use a VE MAF).

FYI, another thing, the RR MAF is a 4-wire (needs a +5v lead).

I am a little lost as to why people just want to try every other MAF than what is out there.

Here are Your 70mm NA MAFs. These MAFs are the best to be used for NA duty on VEs. If you have a B14 use #3 because it has the same pigtail plug as a B14 so there is no cutting and joining of a new pig tail.

1. 91-94 Maxima 70mm MAF

2. 95-99 Maxima 70mm MAF

3. 00-04 Frountier, Xterra and Pathinder 70mm MAF (original VE MAF)

The reason why there are no B15 MAF programs is because JWT never did any programming for this car and MAF setup. So the values where never passed down to the public.

If you are going turbo and want to make more than 350 WHP, then MAFs to use would be the Z32 91-96 MAF 75mm inner bore, good for 550 WHP or the Fordlightning MAF good for 700 WHP

I have a RR MAF working with my CalumRT.
But's it's only temporary, the N60 is going in soon.
Even if RR MAFs were just as good, they are hard to come by and expensive to replace.
You can find N60 MAFs all the time and they're relatively cheap too.

thanks to all for your input.

quick question, are there any rocker arm stoppers available for the VE?

so here's my short term plan:

calum rt ecu (need to send out ecu asap)
70mm maf (still looking around locally)
333cc injectors (i have)
00 se disc + jwt pp (need to order from gspec)
convert back to WAI (done)
walbro 255 fuel pump (on the way)
FPR and gauge (need to order)

my long term plan:
n1 cams
n1 intake manifold
supertech springs and Ti retainers

later this evening, i'm heading back to the track with my club. i'm going to try on some slicks to see if i can break into the 14's. ve is super fun to drive, i'm addicted!!! wish me luck!
