Stock VE rev limiter 7100 RPms I think. Speed liniter of 112 I think. Nobody is or can program this ECU on this side of the world. So your back is up against the wall for any HP modifications. It takes a **** load of time to wire the VE harness int your car.

Ok I see. 7200rpm is the rev limiter.

See your pm, please

thanks for the input fellas. i will get to these upgrade asap. a couple of questions for dre.

1. is the RR dizzy equivalent to the stock ve dizzy or better?

2. are the e60, z32, n60, and p60 mafs the same all together?

Why is the n60 maf necessary? If your plans with a ve are less than 250whp why would the stocker hurt?

Ok, lets look at it like this

The stock DE MAF is 50mm inside bore.

The 95-99 MAF is 70mm inside bore.

Ok now get 2 straw and put it in your mouth and breath through it. Go an run and breath through the 2 straws.

Now get another straw for a total of 3 straws and breath through it. Go and run and breath through the 3 straws.

now tell me which setup was easier to breath through.

The engine has to do less work to breath through the larger MAF becasue there is less of a restriction, less work by engine means more power.

You get a VE and put a vacume guage on it and rev the motor to 7500 RPMs with the stock MAF and I bet the vacum on the motor will go from zero in to negative with the DE MAF. That means there is a restriction.

Try the same thing with the Maxima MAF. I bet the motor does not go into Vacum with the larger bore MAF at wide open throttle.

Now lastly, dont confuse The HP the MAF can make when it get to peak voltage and the restriction in the MAF.

I can tell you that a DE MAF and a GTIR MAF as far as air flow goes can make about 350 HP with the 50mm holes.

When you look at the chart I posted with HP levels listed, you are looking at it wrong. When you see that HP level, you are looking at peak HP that can be read by the ECU because of the limit of the voltage spread of the MAF.

here is a fine example.

A GTIR MAF and a DE MAF have the same inside dia. That being 50mm. The GTIR MAF can do 290 WHP stock and the DE MAF 250 WHP. Ask yourself why is this. They have the same bore size. Well it is the voltage spread.

These 2 MAFs will be as restrictive at any given HP level.

The 2 plugs for the Dist are on the Radiator side vs the DE one being on the VVL Selenoid side.

You get no interference from the plugs hitting the selenoid and there is no cutting- shaving of the plugs.
