Not trying to change the topic of this post,but...wow,I will have to try that ...I have to take out a blown de and a ve out of my other car,to put the ve in a new shell.
Usually whenI do a tranny,I back the car up on ramps and jachk the front up a little higher, and the tranny barely squeezes out the wheel well.Seems like you would need to be higher than that, right?
I have seen many posts over the years about this, but never tried from the bottom.

I don't even take the axles out of the tranny just the hubs. Then I lower it down onto the floor with the xmember and pull it from under the car.

I think I am gonna pull the motor(s) from the top, though.

How high does the car have to be to get the motor out from below? It is hard enough to get the car up enough to get the tranny out.

Rent or borrow a shop crane (cheery picker) and height doesn't matter anymore.

I have a cherry picker that I pull the motor with.
I thought I saw someone using the cherry picker to lift the CARIs that what you mean?

Sweet...I am gonna take the blown de out from the top, since I want to take the tranny off it first, while it is in the car.
I will try to pull the ve out the bottom as complete as possible, since it runs good, and I don't need to pull off the trans or clutch yet. That may make the swap easier, too.

That is correct! Helped a buddy do it first then did it on my car a couple of days later. Works great. I attached the chains to the Pass side and tranny motor mounts. You really don't have much weight you are holding up anyways, maybe a little over 1000 lbs. THE easiest way to do it is unbolt everything from the engine and tranny, which are still bolted together, and lower them onto the ground (preferable some cardboard or even better a dolly). Move your cherry picker so it is attached to the car and lift the front end so the engine/tranny just slide/roll right out from under it.
