Need some help...SUPER RICH!
Well a friend of mine got a VE and its currently in the car. It started up no problems at all but throwing out more black smoke then a deisel. Tried checking the timing last nite and it looked like it was around 5 degrees! Gonna fix that today. Heres the to do list....

-timing
-check/adjust TPS voltage
-check MAF

Could a temp sensor/ knock sensor make it do this?

Mods are:
Ve
Calum ECU
maxima MAF E60
intake/ssac header/2.5" exhaust
and other stuff that wouldnt effect it...

It studders and runs pig rich. MAF should be hooked up correctly. He called Andreas and hooked the wires up like he said. Any ideas help. Hes gonna be putting the car on the road in a day or two. I think its drivable just studders down low and runs rich. Ill keep you updated.

I had the same situation with a NX2000 I did for a friend. The car would get about 130 miles on a full tank of gas. I changed the O2 sensor and the MPG jumped up to 278 miles on a full tank.

Can you check the Maf voltage and see what it is at idle.

Make sure vacuum lines are hooked up right and not leaking. Confirm your ignition components are all good.

O2 sensors do go bad. There's a thread about properly grounding them with the SSAC header.

Well Im gonna give Andreas a call tomorrow while I got everything in front of me. Make sure the MAF is wired up correctly and check the voltage on it and the TPS. Ill also try grounding the O2 sensor.
I set the timing to 15 and after I did it I realized the timing light was set to advanced 15 or so. So I went to re-do it and the freaking light wouldnt work!
Hopefully tomorrow we can get this thing going good.

Oh yea it wont rev past 4-5k so I imagine its in limp mode?

Had same problem on my DE JDM swap, reground the MAF after cleaning the plugs and no more issues. Couldn't get to rev past 4-5K before reground. My guess is that it's MAF related. Have a spare O2 sensor around after you find the problem since the one you're running now will have lots of carbon buildup from unburned fuel.
