With the amount of metal that is distributed throughout that block i wouldn't trust it anymore.
I am sure Greg V can get you what you need to build another one but for the sake of just being able to drive the car I would say buy a stock 20ve and drive while you build something scary fast.
I have a couple of other cars, so I'm fine for now, but I need this car running within a couple of month, so I have to get started now. But maybe I should order a std VE engine, then I can drive it while I build a DET engine and then use it as spare parts when I assemple the tuned VE again.
I wasn't going to use the bottom again, only the top and three working rods and pistons. You might be right about the damage of the engine, it looks like from the piston that the damage has begun "some time ago" but just can't figure out what have caused the damage to the piston.
