SR16VE has 4.444 FD

1. 3.333---14.788
2. 1.955---8.674
3. 1.333---5.914
4. 0.975---4.326
5. 0.756---3.354

SER has 4.176 FD

1. 3.063---12.791
2. 1.826---7.625
3. 1.286---5.370
4. 0.975---4.072
5. 0.756---3.157

SER with SR16VE 4.444 FD

1. 3.063---13.612
2. 1.826---8.115
3. 1.286---5.715
4. 0.975---4.326
5. 0.756---3.354

Gear Spacing of the 2 boxes below and why the SER box with 4.444 FD will be better for 2L motor.

SR16VE with 4.444 FD

1st to 2nd = 6.114
2nd to 3rd = 2.760
3rd to 4th = 1.588
4th to 5th = 0.972

SR20DE with 4.444 FD

1st to 2nd = 5.497
2nd to 3rd = 2.400
3rd to 4th = 1.389
4th to 5th = 0.972

Way less 1st gear tire spin on street tires and drag radials with SR20DE tranny with 4.444 FD.

Also as you can see the gear spacing numbers on the SR20DE tranny with 4.444 FD has closer gear spacing than the SR16VE box which will allow for less RPM loss from each gear change. This allows you to get back up to the sweet spot of the power band quicker, and the 3rd to 4th gear change will not drop as low in the RPM band and will get you out of the dead spot in 4th gear where it feels like the car is not pulling for a few second. This has been reported by many a SR16VE tranny person.

The gear box combination of SER gears with SR16VE 4.44 final drive should be the best box for most 2L VE guys. I want you guys also to take a look at the gear spacing on the box below it is far superior to the gear boxes above. The big problem with the SR16VE box is when you get into forth you are in a dead spot for a while and then you start to go again. This will not happen with the box below. Plus you get beter traction than the SR16VE box out the hole.

Andreas - that final gearset ratios which you reccommend - it happens to be identicle to the Autech 2ltr DE Vlsd box

edit: i forgot the final drive - 4.375 in the Autech box, will that make a huge difference?

Do you have a printout anywhere of the Autech Pulsar box from Nissan or Autech. I would like to see it and maybe a dyno of a Autech motor to do some shift point calculation.

On my dyno run sheets - the car hits the speed limiter in 4th before the engine hits rpm limiter.

I will get a copy of my dyno sheet in full a bit later for you.

The otherday on the dyno, 121mph in 4th gear @ 8000rpm. SR 16 gearbox 4.4 final, 205/50 15 tires.

So your saying the sr16ve 4.44 CW&P fits into the b14 sr20 open diff box. Aren't the CW bolts different?

Andreas - heres a dyno sheet of my autech pulsar.

Hopefully it helps you

for soem reason the final torque figures were continually cut off by the scanner - peak torque was at 2400n

what is the final drive gear in a b15 2.0 box? I would like to do something with my tranny to make 1st usable and 3rd and forth accelerate better. If I rev out forth gear I'm going like 120mph or more probably I don't need high top speed I just want this thing to pull hard out of corners on the track.
