well i made 186.and i have a b15 tranny right now. and i like how 1,2 accelerates compares to a regular se-r tranny. but i hate when am in crusing mode on the highway on 5 gear at higher rpm's......... so let me get this staight the bigger or longer the FD the better?????????????????????????hopefully i be in the two's with my new set up.

What are the quarter-mile differences when comparing the sr16ve transmission vs. the se-r transmission?

It depends on your powerband and your power level. The SR16 box works perfectly for a peaky powerband and keeps you in the meat of it on the gearshift.

sr16 box also favours those with a high rev limit so you can get over the line in 3rd...

I have sr16 tranny (diff, 4.44 final drive, housing etc) with sr20 gears. I finish the 1320 in limiter. I have stock sr16ve flywheel and Calum basic revviing to 8000rpm.

1st and 2nd revs up faster than the sr18 GTS tranny I had in.

In 5th on the highway though, I am at 7500rpm and speed of 238-240kmh.

with vvl at 5100rpm I never drop out of vvl during shifting. Never did with the SR 18 GTS tranny either.

Peace

The question was if you had a before and after with the same mods on your car what would be the difference in quarter-mile time?

SR16VE has 4.444 FD

1. 3.333---14.788
2. 1.955---8.674
3. 1.333---5.914 ( 8000 RPMS = 93 MPH) ( 9000 RPMS = 105 MPH ) 23 in tires
4. 0.975---4.326
5. 0.756---3.354

SER with SR16VE 4.444 FD

1. 3.063---13.612
2. 1.826---8.115
3. 1.286---5.715 ( 8000 RPMs = 97 MPH ) ( 9000 RPMs = 109 MPH ) 23 in Tires
4. 0.975---4.326
5. 0.756---3.354

An SER Gear box with a 4.44 FD will be better for Cory.
