Thread: Gear Box Ratios For The Hard Core VE Guys.

What's the gear-ratios on my car? It's a '94 P10 5spd tranny. Rev limit is 7500 acording to the Haltech standalone. The speedometer reads 65-70 mph in second and about 105 mph in third gear. Drops out of VVL when shifting to 3rd. Identical to the G20 tranny?

Got a really dumb questions fella's.

Changing the FD will throw off the speedo correct? Or does the speedo read off of the diff gear and therefore will not be effected by the FD change?

^^ back from the dead bump for the question above. I am thinking about doing the 4.44 in my b13 lsd box for my ve build (and maybe a p11 fifth if i can source one and it will fit directly). Will the speedo be accurate?

I would like to know the answer too.
Also I like the idea of the b13 lsd box,4.44,and p11 5th.
That seems like the best of both worlds....accelleration 1-4,and a tall 5th for the highway.
Thats what I would lie for my VE.

I think speedo will be ok with different gears.

so what the best tranny or combo for drag racing?????????

Did u read thru the thread, it said a sr16ve tranny would be best for drag.

idk i think its a toss between the sr16 and the 4.44 fd in the ser box. i think it depends on how much power your making. i would only assume the 4.44 fd in the ser box would be the best because the gear spacing is the closest.. right?
