5. 0.733---3.257

I am going to take a part a few gear boxes to get what I want. I will be getting a SR16VE gear box and put a 4.176 final drive in it. I will be using the 1-4 gears and will take a G20T 5th gear and get the longets 5 possible. The SR16 box by itself is great but has it falts 1 st gear being to qucik and 5 thgear being to quick also so I am fixing the problems. I will be able to get great gas milage as I am not drag racing in 5th and will get the best 1 -4th for foward motion.

SR16VE with SER 4.176 FD and G20T 5th gear, This is the ultimate gear box.
1. 3.333---13.918
2. 1.955---8.164
3. 1.333---5.566
4. 0.975---4.072
5. 0.733---3.061

All I need is a SR16VE gear box and a P10 G20T gear box to make what I want.

The SR16VE has the 1-4 gears.
The G20T has the 5th gear
The G20T has the final drive
I have the Nismo Diff.

Remeber I told you I liked the SR16 box but the 1st was useless and the 5th gear would burn gas like crazy with the motor reving high which was anoying. So by adding the 4.176 final drive I am slowing down the 1 st gear to get traction with my drag radials I will get better forward motion with the 2nd and 3rd which is quicker than an SER and the same 4th as an SER. I now get to get great gas milage on long trips and no motor buzing me out of the car.

Look at it like this I am keeping the good and getting rid of the bad.

I love my G20T box but as you know 3rd and 4th are killing me. I can out gub people in 1st and 2nd with an SER box and hold them off to the 1/4 withy 3rd and some people can go fatser than me in 4th ast the dam G20T gear is to long in comparison to the SER box.

Thios boz keeps all the strong points I want and eliminates all the weak points 3rd and 4th I have now

Great idea for daily driver, but for a track slut sr16ve or b15 5 speed is the way to go IMO.

I agree the SR16VE gear box is the best gearbox for slicks.

I have to drive my car everyday so I have to give alittle and take a little.

OK, I have now figure out my 2.3L VE gear box.

The combination will be SR16VE and 91-93 G20.

SR16VE has 4.444 FD
1. 3.333---14.788
2. 1.955---8.674
3. 1.333---5.914
4. 0.975---4.326
5. 0.756---3.354

91-93 G20 has 4.058 FD
1. 3.063---12.430
2. 1.826---7.410
3. 1.207---4.898
4. 0.926---3.758
5. 0.733---2.974

Now this is what the gear box will look like with 4.058 FD
1. 3.063---12.430----91-93 G20 1st gear
2. 1.955---7.933----SR16VE 2nd gear
3. 1.333---5.409----SR16VE 3rd gear
4. 0.975---3.956----SR16VE 4th gear
5. 0.756---3.068----SR16VE 5th gear
or
5. 0.733---2.974----91-93 G20 5th gear

This will give me the longest 1st gear needed to get traction which will be needed with the 2.3L motor.

A real quick 2nd and 3rd which will get the car moving forward rapidly and this will keep the motor in the sweet spot. Nice and short motorcycle like.

4th gear is perfect but still a little to long but the .975 is the shortest 4th you can get

5th gear will be my gas saving gear so both of the choices will be great but I will go with the longest one.

I cant wait to get this thing going.
