Been awhile since I've read/check the VVL section. Just got caught up on this thread.

Some questions for an N/A 12.5:1 compression piston setup. Would this be safe on pump gas? Would running stock VE rods be a good idea? If not, what rods would be a good match? What about head bolts/studs?

some eagles are cheap insurance and some AEBS head studs / or stock bolts ( new ones ) would be a nice economical option ...

Yang,
GoFastDepot has a groupbuy on Eagle rods right now for $300shipped.

And there was someone who posted that he had 13.5:1 pistons in a ve on pump gas. I believe he was from overseas but not sure. But I'm sure with tuning, your going to be totally fine on pump gas with 12.5:1. Or you could do E85. I'll try to call you tomorrow.

Good looking out DJ. I just pmed Marcos @ GoFastDepot.

I need to get my hands on that VE engine. If not, I'll just stick with going turbo DE.

Does anyone know the weight of the 12.5 CR cp pistons and how it compares weight wise to a stock 20ve piston?

AEBS told me they dont make SR headstuds anymore. The other studs that are good are Cosworth.
