Thanks guys ill forget that idea then and go with normal ones. Although 7.9 is kinda tempting to try just for fun would probably be a bit like an old cosworth sierra motor. LOL.

Hmm my gtir head is pretty warped so i might end up going with these pistons afterall if i get my gtir head decked .5mm i will be around the right compression ratio? I can use a n1 chain tensioner and i should be good to go right? Im assuming ill have no valve to piston problems here?

Im guessing somewhere around 8.2-8.3?

Borngearhead have you contacted mazworx? It says on the website custom order still....

By my reckoning an 86mm 9:1 on a VE head with a std gasket needs a dish of 9cc.
68cc head on a GTiR, skim by about 0.5mm would be about 3 cc less,
Cylinder head 65 cc
gasket about 6.5cc
piston in the hole on a std block, 3cc
-9cc for piston dish, adds up to about 83.4cc

by my reckoning, about 6.8:1, if any numbers are wrong, please tell me.

I dont know, I may have a bad number for the GTiR cylinder head, dont forget it has more volume than the DE and the DE has more volume than the VE.

i was talking about the ve cr. i would like to see a 11.5 12 and 12.5 in those bores. i cant see a huge market for 9s and 8s in those bores. but then again i just install the stuff and run them on the dyno. i dont sell pistons in mass'.

It can't be that low.

The diffrence from a GTIR and a DET-DE with the same stock DET piston is 8.3 to 1 GTIR and 8.5 to 1 DET-DE. ( GTIR and DET motors share the same turbo piston the head making the diffrence in compression, GTIR head with slightly larger CC chamber )

You put a VE head on a DET or GTIR block you will get 9.3 to 1 compression. ( GTIR piston and DET piston being the same and since the VE head colume is constant the compression will be the same )

So, if you have a VE with 9 to 1 compression and you put on a GTIR head the diffrence should go down to 7.9-8 to 1 compression.

I did not use a calculator I just use some common sense. Maybe I am wrong, but the numbers add up.
