My New Ve Dyno #s
First off, Calum, thank you greatly for all the help with the RealTime ecu. Once we figured out what the hell we were doing, it went flawlessy. I was finally able to lean my car out, get rid of a few hiccups the car had, and made some increase in hp and torque. I could have stayed longer "playing" but I had already been there from 10am to 3:30pm.

The dyno I was on today was a Mustang dyno and all pulls were done in 4th gear. Previously i had dynoed 199 peak whp and 150torque with a dynamics dyno in 3rd gear. Todays baseline run was 191whp and 141 torque. The final today was 199 peak whp and 144 torque. We found 5900 rpm to be the best for vvl switchover. The air/fuel is around 12.5:1.

The dotted lines are the baseline run. I realized this graph isn't of my final run. We got rid of the switchover dip around 5800rpm.

Any comments are appreciated.

Nice, so I am guessing N1 cams, S/R, with supporting mods.

199 WHP on a dyno dynamics in 3rd to 199 WHP on a mustang dyno in 4th gear sounds like a pretty good gain. Did you do anything to the car between the old dyno pull and this first mustang dyno pull? If not then the 191 WHP is a good baseline and it looks like you picked up 8 WHP. I'm seeing massive gains from your tuning on the small cam and little gains on the large cam. I'm not entirely familiar with VE engines but I would think the gains you managed to get on the small cam could also be had on the large cam. Maybe not. Either way it looks like you had a good dyno session. I'd be really happy with the results. I bet it was a fun day, and now you've got the Calum ECU sorted out. Awesome.

Not sure if 200 WHP is typical of your mods but I'd be psyched to get 100 WHP/liter from any N/A engine. Great work.

The old dyno, 199 on dyno dynamics was w/dynojet correction factor.
On old/base tune, it was running very rich, mostly low rpm up to vvl switch, like 10:1. Taking out fuel there is how he gained up to 30 ft-lb low to midrange.
As far as on the big cam = we tried adding timing, adding fuel, fuel + timing, less timing, less fuel. It didn't like any of it, lost a little. So, ended up going back to original for the most part, a little less fuel vs. base to lean it out a bit.

Another big difference was getting the big dip out at the VVL switch. Ended up at 5900 IIRC - resulted in a really smooth transition.

His car on the big cam is louder than my turbo sr20 with 3" side exit exhaust!
Hopefully I can get my turbo car running well and both of us go back to the dyno dynamics for a good comparison before & after on the same dyno (I added O2 induction to mine).
