I want to see everyone building these motors.

You can buy a VVL and build it to 2.3L cheaper than someone buying a Typre R K20 motor setup.

A Type R B18C motor is about the same price.

^This is how we got to start thinking guys. We all like to spank honda's and with this recipe, it can be done. Hell it's VE's with right at 200WHP giving honda's h*ll. Add 50 or 60WHP to that and you got a nice little street car. I'm game!

now i realize i could save money buy puttin it together myself.. but what about all the other stuff they're chargin for?? it'd still be around 28-2900$ or more an thats not even including the headgasket..

so unless im mistaken i think your prices are off an its not exactly as cheap as you said.. however i maybe mistaken an maybe all that extra work isnt needed or maybe they're just tryin to charge me extra for shit.. idk.

maybe you could clear this up for me dre..

Take these parts off the list no needed

New SR20VE pump = $240 ( used pump is perfect )

Mazwork Main stut kit = $184.99 ( stock main studs are good enough for 450 WHP and 400 LB Ft Torque so your 270 WHP and 200 LB Ft Torque )

Check Polish Balance Crank = $175 ( Nissan Cranks Are Very Well Balanced )

Thats $605 saved.

Cory had his block done and built for $3500.

The price of building the motor was not added into the list because I can build my own motor but that was on the list.

not to mention the norm to do a 2.3 was to sleeve and stroke, so no need for a stroker crank anymore. Thats another $1500's or so off.

the crank was never part of this thread, go back to original post. it was how to build a 2.3L motor cheap with 92mm pistons instead of crank and pistons.

He is talking past tense... His point is back in the day to get a 2.3 you had to stroke the motor.... Saving over what you had to do a couple of years back.
