why are our blocks so different than a honda, other than being an open deck?

People always look to save a dollar but, they forget how much they will be set back if they lose a complete motor.

if you don't have the time or money to do it right the first time don't be surprised when you have to find the time and money to do it a second time...

the fact that they are open deck, either way a torque plate should be used when sleeving just to the fact that sleeves are pressed in not like the stock sleeves that have the block cast around them. You just plain out have to be very careful when installing them, plus the sleeves for the honda again because of the open deck design are completely different than ours.

Either way no more trusting small shops to do this kind of work, i mean had he had a torque plate it would have come out just fine guaranteed, i mean the measurements for the sleeve install were done perfectly to spec and they were cleanly installed but again it doesnt matter if you mess up on the main part.

I would do the Mazworx, the pricing isn't as unreasonable as I thought. Sleeving is just expensive. I am looking at a 90mm bore with their studs and gasket and 9.0 piston set

Well why would you come out and make a statement like that without checking up on the facts.

One of the best machine shops here in sydney will do a 90mm CNC job and presss fit the sleeves WITH warranty on the sleeve job. They charge around 490-520USD to do it.


These guys that do it are the **** when it comes to nissan motors here in sydney.

I'm lazy, and I just woke up. So sleeves go for around $390 or so. Anyone know where to get dartons at the best price?

So far with everything we are looking at $280 for sleeves installed.
$320 for machining with deck plate.

$990 for everything. Not as much as I thought it would be.
