I am A Benson Machine dealer. you can go more than 90mm. You just have to order the correct sleeves and machine the block a certain way.

You can also go larger than 92mm bore. I have a 94mm block and I know of 2 others done to 94mm as well.

If you want anything done through Benson, Just let me know.

Dan Benson is not in Nampa Idaho, he is over 300 miles away from there.

Thanks fellas... I'm beginning to think that it may be easier going to 90mm unless I could get detailed instructions on the sleeving to the point that a mistake couldn't be made. I know there are a couple of machine shops who do sleeving here but it looks like they have mainly done Hondas

Ha ha... I would go to 92mm if I could still get a rebuild or two out of the engine. Isn't the point of these extreme builds to be just that - extreme!

Benson's Automotive Machine is ran by Dan Benson in SoCal. Last time I checked his shelves are also made by Darton, but using specs that he requested.

If you want more info on how the 92mm shelving process is done, you can try and contact him @ 714-241-1284 or through Laskey Racing @ 714-688-0222. He's a cool guy and will explain everything to you (if he has the time).

I had Lasky/benson do my block some years ago and Earl died about 2 years ago. Dan Benson was in Ca but when i spoke to him as i was getting my block done he was in the process of moving to Idaho.

I think ASP would be your best bet for getting a 9xmm bore done but i doubt anyone will warrentee it. You have to know exactly what you are doing to go above a 90mm bore. Benson sleeves are considered one of if not the best. But just because the sleeves won't fail doesn't mean crappy parts won't fail around it.

You can get more than 1 rebuild from a 92mm setup. If anything just start at 90 and you can always rebore and go larger. my 94mm block is almost the max. I can bore to 94.25mm and thats max but i'd probobly just resleeve the block again to 94mm.

Benson is no longer in California, he is 5 hours from me. He drives over here every now and then to the seattle area. I usually just hand him my part personally and he just drives them back. Dan is a great guy and I will continue to give him as much business as I can. He lives for this stuff and just loves to see everyones builds make some power!

All of our (ASP) blocks are sent to Benson for sleeving, SR, B, K and so on...
