you might call me crazy, but since you can fit a sr20ve head on a roller rocker, will the mazworx head gasket work on a roller rocker? i noticed you said every sr20de, but then again, we are forgotten

im debating if i should do the 2.4 ve bottom end to a roller rocker...

I have been talking to mark at mazworks about sleeving and machining my spare DET block to do this so I can throw the VE head on it use the new CP VE pistons...and then in therory only do this install once and I can make it a real street terror , and with the super tech , o BC springs , you think it can still be reved to 9k ??? if so so it would rellay move out ....

90mm big bore VE+t sound fun ....I really have to stop upping the ante on this damn build , it needs to be running by March

Bringing this back up, the Darton website has 2 part numbers which are 300-035-DF & 300-035-SF & they are described as suiting Nissan SR20 with a bore size of 86mm to 90mm.

What is the difference between the SF & DF sleeves & are these the same sleeves people are talking about boring to 91mm or are they referring to getting custom sleeves made?

it is probaly the iner and outer sleeves ....one has one flat side ( for the outer cylinders 1 and 4 ) the other has 2 flat sides ( inner cylinders 2 and 3) that is why the are differant part #s if I remember right

DF-Double Flat
SF-Single Flat

Makes sense

Since this thread has came up again, In regards to 92mm pistons, is there enough meat in the liners for 92mm pistons as I thought that 90mm was the max the liners would take?

The sleeves can be taken to 92mm bore for an all motor application. But the sleeves have to be installed differently than we normally do. I haven't done one yet, so I really don't know how it will hold up. I talk to the guys at Darton routinely, they seem confident it will work.

Cool thanks for that,
The only problem for me is I wouldn't really be able to send my block halfway round the world to darton to get sleeved, well not unless I had a substantial budget!
How are the sleeves held in so as they don't drop? I know its been covered on here before but I can't seem to find the answer. I seem to remember something about a taper?

I must get the wrong people when I e-mail the USA. When I contacted Burns it was like they had never heard of the SR20VE and I thought they would be very familer with it after all of Charles' & Mike's work.

Anyway, the point of the above is here is the response I got from Darton:

The max bore size of the SR20 sleeves is 90mm. Anything more than that you may have problems sealing a head gasket because it does not leave much room in-between the cylinders.

Do I have to speak to somebody specific?
