Go VET, if you are on boost it is the only way to go.

I will stay NA, I like the challenge of it all. I think staying NA is a thinking mans sport.

what turbo is this? and stock 20ve cams?

92mm piston x 86mm crank = 2.287 L

Easy on the pocket
Sleeve block $1000
Pistons $650
Mazworz gasket $250
miselaneous parts $250

Thanks for all the info Andreas. What is the part number on the sleeves we use on VEs? If I do this it will be a little way off as the new engine has cleaned me out for a while.

Kevin Ban said he would make different cams for a bigger engine so it would be interesting to see what he would come up with as he's pretty good with strokers, just look at his 320whp Honda NA Honda!

Speaking of Kelford cams, if you just shave 1mm off the top of the SR16VE pistons (like my build), you won't have a lot of room to play with cam timing with Kelford 184-Cs. Good idea to deepen the cutouts if you're starting from scratch.

This may even mean that there are piston to valve clearance problems with standard pistons... I never thought to ask. Not that they're designed for standard pistons anyway.

Well when you build a motor you have to take alot of factors into consideration. The SR16VE pistons have the deepest valve notches of any stock VE piston. My valve notches are 2.5mm deeper than SR16VE ones. My valve notches are 1 mm larger just incase I decide to go to bigger valves in the future.

As far as cams go. I will go with the off the shelf Kelford cams. I hope they make more power than N1s.

I will be testing my motor first with stock VE cams to see what a 2.3L will do with stock cams. Then I will be going up to N1s and then Kelford cams. I am running a Freak 4 into 1 header on the new motor.

The only think that I need to do to finish my 2.3L VE motor is to put on the oil pans.

Will post some pics of finished motor in the next few days.

thats not that impressive then, with a big turbo like that running 20+psi you would want 500+hp

I think that's good for just having a JWT ecu. I know the guy and he went through alot in the past, so I think that is damn good, even though he keeps calling me out.
