92 is bullisht... you can only go 90mm, and then the boring machines will only go to 94mm after that. they physically cant do anything inbetween...

Why does mazworx charge so much for sleeving? Where can you get sleeves for a good price, $1000 like mentioned in this thread? Machining at Mazworx costs nearly $1000. I'd like them to do some work for me, but their prices are a lot more than local shops with the same machining capabilities.

The 90mm CNC combustion chamber looks pretty cool. I am thinking about toying around with some spare parts I have laying around...

Keep thinking that.

When your sleeves drop come back and let me know about it.

^^^ true that, aske me how i know, hahaha

it was funny because my local machinist was all confident and sure that he could sleeve the block just fine. For one he got way in over his head after it took him nearly a month to get the block done, His confidence slowly diminished. His price the he said he was gonna charge at the beginning $360 was now almost $800. He has done many honda engine sleeves and tons of V8 sleeves but again they are different and dont require a torque plate like our blocks.

So needless to say he was quite concerned about his work on the block and sure enough once we torqued the head down we were immediately having issues with loosing coolant and pushing it into the reservoir. So pulled the plug and just as i suspected coolant in the #1 cylinder.

We pulled the head and all the sleeves had dropped down a minimum of .022 at the lowest. some were more than that. The Mazworx full grommet headgasket almost made up for that difference but just couldnt quite seal it. It did however seal the #2,3, and 4 but those too would have probably blown eventually. The #1 sleeve slid down the fartherst at almost .030. Plain fact is he didnt use a torque plate on the final bore and the sleeve raised up off the shelf and then he resurfaced the block, So yeah needless to say he finally admited to faulty work and my buddy got his money back for the 2.2 L build stuff including pain and suffering money. So a long hard experience but now when he does his next block, noone besides mazworx will even touch it when it comes to the sleeves.
