When I tune my timing I take into account that it isn't a VVL ecu so when it kicks the VVL there isn't a 2nd map to switch too. Where ever I set my VVL to come in at I increase the timing from that point on. might start is the 20 deg then when the vvl hit I jump it up to 28deg and by redline it has 32-34 deg.
Thats exactly what I found as well. I just wish I had a dyno so I don't have to run this using allot of caution and seat of the pants. Did you have a chance to tune your timing using a dyno? The bin I am using hits 26deg peak on the low lobes, and peaks at 35deg on the highs. Looks like my timing is a little more aggressive then yours was, however its very hard to tell if it would benefit from lower timing, which i tried and did not feel a difference so I left it.
