For the sr16 exhaust cam, I would need pistons with valve reliefs though, right?

I thought the sr16 cam lobes push the valves further into the piston, thus needing the relief knoches? I know my way around the engine bay, just not real familiar on the internals. I know how they work, just never took apart an engine...yet.

my opinion is that camshafts arent technically needed if your plans were either the tubular manifold and the turbo to the camshafts, the turbo would make more whp over the camshafts.

now camshafts,turbo and manifold would be the best thing all together but i would upgrade the turbo, if the turbo vs camshafts were a option

I see what you're saying, but the original question was, would I be able to keep the sr16 cams with the U12 bottom. (hybrid)
