ANYONE: from experience

^When you run a Calum ECU and it is set at 15*, how is it compared to running a stock ECU at 19* below 5K. Does the Realtime help more on the top end, or through out all the whole RPM range?

The Calum unit will let you make it behave how ever you'd like. If you set your timing properly the Calum ECU can give you stock style ignition timing, or you could make it give you stock style + 4 degrees (same as stock ECU with timing set at 19 degrees) or you can have it do stupids things like retard timing at 1,000 rpm by 20 degrees from stock, then advance timing 20 degrees above stock at 1,500 rpm. Really, do what ever you'd like (distributor permitting).

wtf is a "pito" bin?

Also, if you are running those mods on a "stock" calum tune, there is your problem. You have any idea of what your timing map looks like?

pito is a forum membmer. Bin is what u call the rom file u load into the ecu. /ROM tune 101.

VE injectors?
is the ws2 a "straight through" muffler?
^^you probably won't gain much (if any) with a bigger maf^^
before the next dyno session get some CS cam gears (the +8 in/-8ex type).
now add some fuel to the wot part of your calum rt fuel maps from~5k up.
once your afr is squared away start adding timing 1 or 2 degrees @ a time to the same rpm range you added fuel to.

You have experience using Tuner RT Pro correct? I am sorry if this is a bit ignorant, but I am so busy with work I have no time to search through old posts. I have an lm-1 wideband, and I am really close to having it setup for street tuning (strictly fuel). How much would changing the numbers on the fuel maps alter my afr? Could you give me a rough estimate of how much to change for say one full point richer?

Here are the maps I am running. As you can see at the top that is how I am setup.

Thanks for all the help.

Edit: Before I get cam gears I want to get the motor making what it should be, plus I have rust spots to fix...

Do you think this is due to the car leaning out? This is tailpipe afr with stock cat. Any help much appreciated so i can work this out as cost effectively as possible :o

your fuel map is entirely different than mine. how much to add/subtract at different points is "learn by trial and error" with your wideband. but, your afr's are close enough that they shouldn't be the root cause of a missing 20whp.
i don't want to open a can of worms here in public, so i'm gonna pm you

looking at your fuel chart...for some reason the 8"s just look out of place compared to the area (numbers) surrounding them.
anyone else have a b13 Ve fuel chart they could post, or chime in on this one?
another Ve owner with the same basic mods+N1's (and a missing 20whp) has contacted me. he also is running the PITO bin. hmmm, i wonder if there's something wrong with it?
dudeman, how about a pic of your distributor's static timing?

Update:

Busy week at work sorry.

So. I managed to source a timing light from a tech at work, and got home to set it.

The static timing was at about 12deg btdc. Set it to 15-16ish, and headed out. The car feels allot better, I would say at least 3-5whp all around, very noticeable difference. Still not what it should be.

The more I have paid attention, and this is even more evident after the timing change. The car just feels like it has very poor top end. As I said, the car feels awesome down low, but if you take it up the car feels like it is either restricted or too rich.

Anyone have any other bin for me to try? ve inj, de maf, n1 cam...

Thanks.
