Went to the dyno...
Well my buddy informed me of a dyno day at a shop a few hours south so we decided to jump in the se-r and head down. $40 For a warm-up pull and then one power pull with 02...I cannot say I wasn't expecting the numbers I got, because I knew the motor didn't feel really strong. The question is where do I go from here?

I just replaced plugs cap rotor. The car has been driving fine. Mod list in my sig. Running the "Pito" bin.

I am planning to tune it myself once i get my darn wideband all set up and have a working laptop. Then I am off to the dyno for timing and additional fuel tuning. What would be the best target a/f for the ve?

Let me know what you guys think.

Are you running a DE MAF or something? Don't feel too bad. My VE was not super strong either. Where'd you get it?

Yea it is a de maf with the de intake piping retrofitted. I know it is creating a restriction. I have an n60 maf sitting next to me, but no bin to run it with. How much could the stock maf and piping really restrict vs a complete 3inch intake system....I guess I will find out soon enough.

Dude! Intake is the first mod man!

DE MAF goes restrictive in the upper 200 range. Why did you even bother going to the Dyno? You plunked down for N1 cams and didn't either fab or pay the whopping $150 for a used 3" HSCAI and an N60 MAF?

No wonder you are running a bit rich. Get a nismp fpr a 3" intake and see what happens.

I made best power at 12.8:1 on my DE just like everyone else in the N/A world on every other motor ever made. Don't see why the VE would be any different.

Also, is 172 WHP low for your engine + mods?

you're within the stock cammed Ve range!! even running lean as you are, it oughta be in the 190's with n1 cams dialed straight up.
92 degree weather doesn't help!
elevation a factor?
VE injectors?
is the ws2 a "straight through" muffler?
^^you probably won't gain much (if any) with a bigger maf^^
before the next dyno session get some CS cam gears (the +8 in/-8ex type).
now add some fuel to the wot part of your calum rt fuel maps from~5k up.
once your afr is squared away start adding timing 1 or 2 degrees @ a time to the same rpm range you added fuel to.

Well he has

SR20VE, N1 cams, SSAC header, JWT Pop Filter, 3 inch exhaust and Calum ECU.

He should be somewhere between 190-200 WHP.

It seems like the power is peaking a little early.
