VVL wierd activating points w/MSS was working great?
mss set at 4850 and 5100k

Did the swap 9 months ago and had never had a problem. For the past few weeks I have been driving really easy and not hitting VVL to save gas ($4.99 in San Diego).

Yesterday I had to make a quick move and didnt hear the cams activate till 6.5k . So I tried it again and it was like normal. Did it again didnt activate till 6.5k again.

I would have to say 50% working as usual. MSS reads rpms fine and says that both activation points are on...

I saw a little of debris on the wires near the solenoids. Maybe i'll try to recrimp the wire.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated...!

Where did you tap the RPM signal from? I used mine right off the ecu. I know the wire that the MSD people use won't work with the MSS.

Thanks for the link!

Yeah I was beating it today (vvl and my pecker) and it wouldnt even lift any more all through out rpms. So I used some of my RC electric motor cleaner and sprayed it all over the connections and bam I have VVL again. Hopfully this isnt a FLUK. Sux because gas is really killing me!

Why not just solder/heatshrink the connections to prevent this in the future?
